60 AL CONSTRUCTION NEWS JUL-SEP 2017 JOURNAL This year's Convention opened up with an in-depth overview of Auburn University's McWhorter School of Building Science. This update, provided by McWhorter's Endowed Chair and Head Dr. Richard Burt, gave a comprehensive overview of analytics regarding enrollment, funding and curriculum. Dr. Burt also provided detailed information about the future of Building Science graduates and exactly what students entering the market post-graduation from Auburn are looking for from their employers. "Many ABC of Alabama members—many of which are graduate of our program—recruit directly from our program, relying heavily on our graduates, so it's important for attendees to hear about where we are as a program," said Burt. "Right now the program is very strong and enrollment is high. Attendees were able to get a very positive picture of our program at the moment." HELD ON JUNE 11 THROUGH 15 AT THE PEARL HOTEL IN ROSEMARY BEACH, FLORIDA, ABC OF ALABAMA'S ANNUAL STATE CONVENTION MET ITS PURPOSE: TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT COMPANIES CAN USE TO PERFORM BETTER WHILE PROVIDING A RELAXED ENVIRONMENT FOR MEMBERS AND FAMILIES TO NETWORK.
