WHILE THE ACADEMY OF CRAFT TRAINING (ACT) IS ONLY MONTHS YOUNG, THE CENTER'S STAFF IS ALREADY INTERVIEWING ITS THIRD CLASS FOR THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR. More than 40 companies interviewed prospective students and scored them in order to ensure that the ACT is maintaining a quality student that will be successful in this industry. Student and parent interest is so great that more than 300 attended the open house prior to the interviews on February 9. And to illustrate the growing interest, for example, Spain Park High School—one of the 24 local high schools—in year one of the ACT had eight students apply. In the second year, the school has 14 students, and now, the school boasts 27 applicants that are interviewing for sports in the center's upcoming third year.
