50 AL CONSTRUCTION NEWS OCT-DEC 2018 OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS, THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA HAS BEEN HARD AT WORK UPDATING AND IMPROVING ITS CAMPUS. In fact, since 2015, 18 new buildings have been constructed on campus for a total of more than 1.5 million square feet and a total project value of more than $279 million. In addition to the new construction during that time, there have been 17 major renovations and additions resulting in more than 190,000 additional square feet and a total project value of more than $178 million. In total, all of the new work has increased the University's campus to 1,377 acres. "The University of Alabama's Construction Administration organization is responsible for overseeing approximately $200 million in construction annually," said Assistant Vice President of Construction Administration Tom Love. "This represents at least 200 projects of varying size and complexity and requires a tremendous amount of effort. These projects cannot be completed without ABC of Alabama members contribute to the new and renovated facilities
