Title: Plant Utility Superintendent Hire Date: 1/18/1979 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT Charles has been married to Sandy Covington for 36 years. They have three sons. They take care of their son Matthew, who was involved in a major car crash. Charles is a trustee of his church and sings in the choir. Charles' Day begins at 4:00am. He makes breakfast for he and Matthew and addresses any needs Matthew has before he leaves to start his day at Dunn. By 6:00am Charles has made sure the Lakeshore Plant operations are up and running free of any hazards or concerns. He picks up the inner office mail and moves on to the Midfield Plant. His process then starts over, he'll check on operations at Midfield Plant making sure everything is in running order, picks up the inner office communications and heads over to our fuel yard. Charles reportedly checks all of the tanks making corrections as needed. At this point, if he hasn't received any maintenance calls from any of our other operations he heads to our main office downtown. Charles interacts with a number of our employees, customers, and the community each and every day. Charles is on call 24/7, because our operations can't run smoothly if we have plants go down. He is responsible for making sure all of the burners are running as to not delay projects. His day never really has a definitive ending time due the nature of our business. Our business is at the mercy of the DOT for the most part and we work at the times we are assigned which means our plants operate 24 hours a day for weeks at a time in the hottest part of the Alabama Summer heat. Charles has been a stellar employee for the last 37 years. He continues to be a role model and valued employee at Dunn Construction. C H A R L E S C O V I N G T O N
